Ahoy there / Macrossan Street garden beds begin to take shape

The Macrossan Street Garden Bed Enhancement project is well underway with several boat shaped garden beds in place filled with new plants.

The design, approved by the Douglas Shire Council in October 2019 and due to be completed early July 2020 features four new garden beds, designated smoking areas, custom timber benches, recycled timber bollards from the Sugar Wharf and a new, central, tri-colour ‘wave’ design pedestrian crossing. The current Carstens Memorial will remain in place during the project.

Hortulus Landscape Design & Construction will be moving ‘full steam ahead’ in the coming weeks to complete the nautical streetscape.
