JAYNE MILLER chats with BRONWYN DWYER, Chief Executive Officer, Daintree Bio Precinct Ltd & subsidiary Far Northern Milling Pty Ltd

Mossman Mill installed Boiler Water Level Controls during the off season but the upgrade has caused some teething issues at the beginning of the season. After more modifications and inspections overnight, the boilers were fired up this morning at 5.30 am and today’s crush is well underway with bins busily rolling in to the Mill.

Last night modifications were made to the positioning of the drum level sensors as well as detailed inspections of the internals of the top drum carried out.

Don’t rush the crush!

Visitors and locals need to be aware that road and rail transport has started, and will run around the clock until the end of the season. People need to be mindful of this and adhere to the rail crossing signs. Two electronic message boards have been installed to remind motorists of the cane haulage in progress.
