Four local female football (soccer) players have been diligently training over the last six weeks to hone their skills and compete in the Cairns and District Football competition.Β
Becks Brown, Michelle Blackman, Nadia Carlon and Daisy Wilson, train and play with the Marlin Coast Rangers Football Club but their journey started here in Douglas with the Douglas Dragons female βcasualβ team.
For the last three years any female who is a lover of the game, have been getting together weekly for training and games at the Port Douglas Sports Complex.Β Now, four players have decided to take the next step and join the official competition, doing so with the next closest Club in the Trinity Beach area.
Tonight, Friday night at 6.30pm kick off time, there is the one and only home game for these four ladies at the Port Douglas Sport Complex, Dragons home field against Mareeba Bulls.Β The womenβs game will be followed by the men at 8.30 against Marlin Coast Rangers.
Bar and food available, so come along for a fun and entertaining night and support the local football players to a victory!
