Victoria reported only 282 new cases today.
See graph below.
This is down from 500 or so per day at the start of August. Victorians should be proud today; their hard work during Phase 4 lockdown is now paying off. And all Australians should say “Thank you, Victoria!”
And NSW only reporting three cases today indicates that the state is to be getting on top of its cases.
Australia seems to be winning against its COVID “second wave.”
But don’t just listen to me, listen to two of Australia’s true experts…
Prof Raina MacIntyre Head, Biosecurity Program, and Professor of Global Biosecurity, Kirby Institute, University of NSW
“I think the Victorian government has done a really good job under very, very difficult circumstances and clearly the epidemic there has peaked and the numbers are coming down. Hopefully it will be a week or so before we see those numbers down to the double digits.”
Prof Greg Dore , Professor and Program Head, Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program, Kirby Institute, University of NSW
“NSW Health continues to amaze. Only two locally acquired cases (today).”
