Art & Culture / Cairns Indigenous Art Fair pieces available to buy online

Would you like the opportunity to buy one of the traditional indigenous artwork pieces exhibited in the 2020 Cairns Indigenous Art Fair?

While more than 200 pieces have already sold, there are still plenty of artworks available to purchase in this year’s new-look Art Fair, with a sale now online. The CIAF Marketplace is a digital online store, showcasing works by Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. Purchase art, craft and jewellery directly from art centres, artists and entrepreneurs.Β 100% of sales will go directly to the artists.

While COVID-19 has struck a blow throughout the local economy, the team at CIAF pulled together to re-invent their concept with a digital presence that means more accessibility for buyers from farther afield, increased exposure for the artist profiles-providing economic benefit through sales, but also giving them the opportunity to share their stories and culture more widely.

Virtual exhibitions are still open, and artworks available to view and to purchase until Sunday, September 13.
