This morning, local AFL fans were treated to a Sydney Swans training session at the Port Douglas Sports Complex, with all the big team names on the field, including Lance (Buddy) Franklin, Josh Kennedy and Tom Papley.
The session was suitably relaxed, given we’re at the tail end of the season, and the promise of poolside recovery afterwards at the Sheraton Grand Mirage.
Buddy kept his distance from the crowd, staying closer to the Crocs Clubhouse, but there was plenty of low- and short-kicking action from some of the up-and-coming team members close to the public viewing area. Keen sports fans were given souvenir footballs, had a. chat with their beloved footy stars and the Port Douglas Crocs were presented with a signed Sydney Swans guernsey courtesy of coach John Longmire and the team.
