Douglas Shire school students have been super busy competing in district and regional sports-catch up with all the action here!

Eleven boys and girls from Julatten, Miallo, Saint Augustines and Port Douglas State School competed in the Jamie Gosling FNQ Football Championships and placed third out of nine Cairns teams.

Twelve boys from Mossman, Julatten, Miallo, Saint Augustines and Port Douglas State School competed in the Jamie Gosling FNQ Football Championships and were runners up out of nine Cairns teams. Young champion player, Lewis Marano, was announced as ‘PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT’ , selected from around 110 students from the different schools.

55 girls from Mossman State High competed at the Fowlers Group Netball Tournament in Cairns. Two Senior teams, three Under 15 teams and one Year 7 team competed in the event. All competitors enjoyed very good results with multiple teams making the semi-finals and one Under 15 team coming Runner Up.

Teachers at Mossman State High School have been working overtime to facilitate students attending as many different sporting opportunities as they can after so much sporting activity was cancelled during COVID.
