With New Years’ celebrations cast in the shadow of a pandemic that changed the world forever, it’s entirely understandable that you might be feeling a little flat about partying ol’ school, or you might simply be locked out because you can’t get a ticket to Port Douglas shenanigans…so we’ve come up with a list of simple and reflective ways to welcome in new beginnings that are calm and kind to our temples…
Bubbles and bath
Why don’t you fill up the bath or jump in the creek, create a cosy indulgent atmosphere with candles or oils, pour yourself a glass of bubbles (Champagne or kefir!) and quietly reflect on the year that was…and the year that will be…
Get in the flow
Welcome in the New Year with a cleansing yoga flow or a sequence that honours new beginnings-try a Zoom or live facebook class?

Meditate
Honour presence over productivity. Find stillness, peace and presence in the moment fully.
Read in the New Year
If you love reading, turn off all screens and turn over the first page of your summer holiday read or re-visit one of your classics….a true indulgence that will take you to another world and another sense of time
Write off the year
Get your soul down on paper. Start afresh with some cathartic journaling and intention-setting. Or simply get creative by writing a song or a poem or a love letter?
Get jammin’
Beat to your own drum, strum your own tune….or sing at the top of your lungs!

When in doubt, Zoom out
Not that kind of Zoom! Why not catch up with family and friends via the online technology that defined twenty bloody twenty?
Honour the Moon
Pop out under the night sky and catch a glimpse of the full moon, our thirteenth for the year. Enjoy a few moments to honour the miracle of how we are surviving on this planet.

Or simply sleep it all off….
Ahh..sounds good and healthy doesn’t it!
