Weโ€™ve been part of the Port Douglas community for the past 11 years and weโ€™re so excited to continue our journey with Kmart, one of Australiaโ€™s most iconic brands. Our K hub store is stocked full of great value, on-trend products that we know our customers are going to absolutely love! Itโ€™s the โ€˜best of the bestโ€™…Kmartโ€™s most popular products across kids, home and clothing.

The K hub store will also be a collection point for Target. Customers will also be able to shop Targetโ€™s full product range online and visit the K hub in store to collect their shopping. Port Douglas Store Manager, Brent Beach reports that “the store will also offer customers unprecedented accessibility to two of our key Kmart Group brands, as the hub will become a collection point for online Target orders.”

Familiar local faces welcome shoppers, with many of the staff carried over from the Target Country, “seven of our Target team members have joined the K hub team; and we have 13 new team members from the local community with recruitment ongoing. ” Mr Beach reports.

A vibrant and contemporary Indigenous artwork โ€œIgnite the Wonderโ€ welcomes customers in store. Kmart engaged Gilimbaa Creative Agency to create a visual narrative that represents and share their commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and community. Rachael Sarra, a Goreng Goreng artist, created the piece, which celebrates the joy and wonder of community connection. Given the numbers of happy shoppers in store so far, K hub are doing a great job.

The new retail opening helps to revitalise the retail sector in Port Douglas, attracting shoppers into the heart of Macrossan Street’s retail precinct.
