TOMORROW night will be a social hive in the more northern reaches of the Shire with Twilight Markets under the Raintrees in Mossman and Cheers To Wonga with the Walker Brothers.

The Twilight Markets promise delicious food, entertainment and Cotters craft and arts stalls under the gorgeous setting of the Raintrees. Take along a picnic rug and enjoy an evening under the stars catching up with family and friends.

Further North, Wonga Beach. is celebrating the local community, with a Cheers to Wonga night at the Wonga Beach State School. Drinks and delicious food will be flowing while you stomp along to the Walker Brothers who are playing from 6-10-pm. Sizzling Wheels are available to transfer you home, so strap in for a great night!

As the crowds start heading to town pre-Easter, live music venues all the way from Mount Molloy to Port Douglas are turning on the tunes! See Lady Valiant, Wait-A While, Lunar and Stan Stone across the Shire.

There is plenty of vibrant sporting and wellness action around with a practise game for the Crocs AFL at Cazalys on Friday night, a weekend long yoga retreat at Thala and a weekend fishing competition for the Mossman Boat & Fishing Club starring Grunter as the target species this weekend.

Art fans will enjoy the weekend in Cairns with the Archibald Prize exhibition continuing this weekend, as well as local artists featuring in the Call of the Running Tide Exhibition at Northsite Contemporary Gallery.

Prestigious and controversial, The Archibald Prize is Australia’s oldest and most respected award for portraiture, and it arrived in Cairns this week. The Exhibition is open through to 2 May 2021. Reservations essential.

Whether $1 oysters, learning leathercraft, farmers markets, piano recitals, target shooting, horse racing or Shaun the Sheep is your thing, you’ll find plenty to do around the region this weekend.
