• The Delta variant has a modification in its spike protein that makes it “stick” better to the respiratory cells after you inhale the virus. This is the main reason for its significantly increased infectiousness.

• Report that 24 of the 30 people at the Hoxton Park Party have now returned COVID positive results.
The six who did not become infected were all healthcare workers, who were all at least partially vaccinated.

• The Delta variant seems to have a 100% attack rate in households. That means that if one household member becomes infected, it is likely that all household members will also become infected.
This is a significant change from the ancestral “Wuhan” strain of the virus.
