School holidays continue, with the ever popular Wallaby Creek Festival being held up in Rossville this weekend. Wallaby is a three day family-focussed festival that celebrates music and the arts in a tropical rainforest with swimming holes and mountain streams. Choose from three stages of music, street theatre, kids festival, the daily Poets Breakfast, workshops, dancers, circus performances.

Most pubs and clubs will be broadcasting tomorrow night’s AFL Grand Final if you want to join the crowds in support of Western Bulldogs or the Melbourne Demons playing in Perth.

Have you been to visit and ponder the amazing multimedia pieces for the Call of the Running Tide Environmental Sculpture and Multimedia Festival? The festival features indoor and outdoor galleries, multimedia and installation art, with thoughtful works and contemporary ideas acting as a connection with culture help to uplift the community. Only displaying until Monday!

If you are a lover of fabulous fresh local seafood, Santiego is back in town this weekend, selling prawns and scallops direct off the back deck at the Public Wharf. Hours are Saturday from 7am and Sunday from 8am.

PS / Lovers of the exuberant Spanish rock trio Kallidad will perform live on Monday night at PK’s Village up at Cape Trib from 7pm.

What is the weather doing?

A high [1022 hPa] over the northern Tasman Sea extends a ridge over northern waters. The high will move eastward across the Tasman Sea today, with the ridge over northern waters weakening over the next few days. Today, winds are east to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots north of Cairns. Inshore winds south of Innisfail decreasing to about 10 knots in the evening. Tomorrow and Sunday, winds will drop east to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots.

FOUR MILE BEACH SOCIAL SWIM / A weekly social Ocean Swim around the buoys in front of the patrol hut, which makes about a 500m course. Meet in front of the patrol hut on Four Mile Beach at 9am. Please note this is a social swim without any organised water safety and you swim at your own risk. For safety reasons we swim in front of the patrol hut during lifeguard hours.
