Weekend Event Guide / 18-20 February 2022

Jeff Martin performs Led Zeppelin at the Tanks on Saturday night.

What is the weather doing?

A high [1021 hPa] in the eastern Tasman Sea maintains a ridge along the east coast. The high will slowly weaken as it drifts east over the next few days. A new high will push into the Tasman Sea over the weekend, strengthening the ridge along the coast again slightly. Expect southeasterly winds 10-15 knots over the weekend.

THE TANKS / ANDY MARTIN AND ABI MUIR

Andy Martin’s energetic indie pop sound has made a mark all over the globe with a single release, ‘Heat of it All’ (via CLASH Magazine & MTV) and ‘Mess We Made’ (Triple J). Andy has been compared to the emotional Indie sound of artists like Sam Fender, Bruce Springsteen & Gang of Youths. He is relatable, thoughtful, and empathetic in his song writing.

The energy and passion that Andy projects into his live shows and into his recorded works is palpable and inspiring. He has something to say, and you can feel it.

Abi Muir hooks listeners with goosebump-inducing vocals reminiscent of Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish, captivating audience with her unique indie-pop sound. From the wistful, dreaminess of her debut single ‘heebiejeebies’, to her high energy dance track ‘First Date’, Abi’s creative storytelling from her youthful perspective releases a rush of emotions and memories for her audience.

With dramatic strings and a powerful drum line supporting emotive vocals, this EP shows the growth and maturity developing in this young singer. Abi’s debut EP is scheduled for release March 2022 and will see the launch of a new Australian pop sensation.
