Police Beat / Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Port Douglas

In devastating news for the local community, a local woman has died following a motorbike crash in Port Douglas last night, Wednesday March 2.

Initial investigations reveal around 6pm the 27 year old woman was a passenger on a motorcycle, driven by a 31 year old man on Barrier Street in Four Mile, when the pair were thrown from the bike after negotiating a corner.

The woman sustained critical injuries and later died in hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses especially those with dashcam of the crash or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
