INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CHARITY LUNCH /

Two local women who have broken the bias are joining Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas, for an inspiring lunch on International Women’s Day, Tuesday 8th March 2022.

Tennis Legend, Judy Dalton AM, and Rural Doctor of the Year, Dr Renee Cremen, believe in a world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Judy Dalton AM made history alongside Billy Jean King over 50 years ago as members of the ‘Original Nine’. This trailblazing group of women broke away from the men’s tour in 1970 in order to take a stand for equal pay, which paved the way for equality for women in sport, and beyond. Judy was also a singles finalist at Wimbledon in 1968 – where she fell to King in the title match. She won nine majors in her career, including eight in women’s doubles and one in mixed. Judy recently attended the Australian Open as an honored guest off Tennis Australia.

Dr Renee Cremen is the Director of Medical Services Babinda MPHS and Yarrabah ED. She received the Rural Doctors Association of Australia’s (RDAA) Rural Doctor of the Year Award in recognition of her exceptional commitment to her Far North Queensland community and her inspiring approach to teaching the next generation of doctors. Renee has been providing dedicated service to the people of North Queensland since completing her Internship at Cairns Hospital in 2009.

Enter via the Lobby and enjoy a welcome drink on arrival in Lower Daintree Bar, before settling into the air-conditioned comfort of Feast Restaurant, overlooking sparkling blue lagoons and swaying palm trees, for a delicious and indulgent International buffet.

We are also proud to partner with local charity ‘Pink In The Tropics’,  a community based charity Breast Cancer Support Group supporting those recently diagnosed, undergoing treatment and to celebrate survivors. All proceeds from the day will be donated to provide support to this much needed charity in our community.

You may even be lucky enough to win a valuable raffle or lucky door prize, including a one night stay at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas, a private tennis coaching session with Judy Dalton, and much more.

Book a single seat or a table, to share great food, fascinating stories and support a great cause. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias
