VARIETY JET TREK / Completing a 7-day trek from Mackay at The Market Park. This space will be utilised by support crews collecting participants and their jet skis as they arrive throughoutย the morning, resulting in heavy traffic use of the Port Douglas Boat Ramp and car park.The Yamaha Variety Jet Trek is Australiaโs largest and most successful charity personal watercraft (PWC) event, taking place annually for over 20 years.

A trough remains slow-moving over the northwest Coral Sea and Torres Strait. A weak ridge extends along the east coast south of the trough, and will remain in place for the next few days. Expect winds south to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots today. Saturday will see winds southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots at times offshore north of Cairns in the afternoon while on Sunday, expect winds to be southeasterly 10 to 15 knots.
It will be partly cloudy all weekend with a 70% chance of showers on Saturday.
