With the Cairns Airport IRONMAN just over a week away, here’s what you need to know about road closures and changed traffic conditions from Palm Cove to Port Douglas.

For the safety of competitors, motorists and spectators, there will be a number of road closures and changed traffic conditions from Yorkeys Knob to Port Douglas and the Cairns City area.
The Captain Cook Highway will be closed from Vievers Rd, Palm Cove to Beor St, Craiglie from 5.30am-5.30pm on Sunday June 12.
Residents are advised to plan their journeys ahead of time and familiarise themselves with road closures and changes to avoid being caught out on the day.
Leaving earlier and allowing for additional travel time may also assist in avoiding potential delays.
Please follow the directions of traffic controllers and police along the course to help keep everyone safe.
