AUSTRALIA DAY EVENTS
The Yachty are going all out traditional Aussie style with a $19 Parmy special all day and live music by The Aviators.
Plantation Resort is hosting family fun round robin tennis with a big fat Greek BBQ by the lagoon pool.
Ellis Beach Bar + Grill sounds like another great destination for the day with seafood specials on fresh, local tiger prawns and hickory smoked cheese kransky hot dogs with views over the ocean and the opportunity for a dip!
Down in Palm Cove, Seachange are playing at Rattle and Hum for a chilled afternoon session from 3-6pm.
Douglas Shire Council is partnering with the Rotary Club of Mossman to provide a free community event at Mossman Pool featuring a sausage sizzle, classic lamingtons, live entertainment, and other free family activities. The event will run from 11am to 3pm.
Take the kids along to jump on and splash around an inflatable obstacle course.
Council will also host the 2023 Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony at the Port Douglas Community Hall.
Mossman & Port Douglas Friends of the Hospital Foundation will host a free barbecue breakfast from 7.30am.
LIVE & LOUD
From midday on Saturday, JJJ will host their Hottest 100 for 2022. Which band has got the most appearances over the Hottest 100 history?
Every weekend, you’ll find live music at Paddy’s, Court House and the Central Hotel on Friday and Saturday nights and again at the Courty for a Sunday market session.
At the Courty this week catch GiGi on Australia Day
Sunset Ragga on Friday, Seachange on Saturday, Dennis Rose on Sunday morning and Topaz Hall for the afternoon.
Hughies in Mossman is open again Friday for their once-a-week celebrity appearance from 4pm.
Stop by from 11pm till late at the Ironbar this Saturday and sway away to the tunes of DJ Hail Mary.
Mossman Bowlo presents karaoke with Rockin’ Rick this Friday night.
Mount Molloy National Hotel features Jag the Joker and live music on Fridays with meat raffles-tickets with your drink purchase from 5.30pm. Happy Hour and a transfer bus home (book early!) or a room at the inn upstairs.

The Library is hosting a range of workshops for the next few Mondays for the less tech savvy ⟼

FISHOS SIGN ON & FUN DAY
Mossman Boat & Fishing Club Family Fun Day & Sign On Day is being held this Sunday with lots of fun family events including a cast net throwing clinic, a lure throwing clinic, and educational discussions on safe and sustainable fishing practices. From 2-4pm with free BBQ at Mossman Boat & Fishing Club at Newell Beach Boat Ramp.

MARKET CALENDAR
It’s always a great drive up to the lively country markets in Yungaburra markets which are held monthly, and are on this Saturday, as well Mossman markets from 7am-1pm and Port Douglas markets are Sundays from 8am-1.30pm.
Mossman CWA are also hosting a market this Saturday, where you can browse bric-a-brac, plants and cakes. Morning and afternoon tea and coffee. Open from 8am-4pm.
