WORLD WETLANDS DAY

This weekend, celebrate wetlands at Cattana Wetlands Saturday from 6am, one of the most successful wetland restoration sites in Northern Queensland.

Cattana Wetlands is a former sugar cane farm and sand quarry. Many native plants have been planted over the years. There have been a number of new challenges to enhance the biodiversity of the wetlands.

Geoff McClure, Denis Moeser and David Anderson will host the day’s events and show us some of the remarkable achievements in recent years along with learning about our diverse local bird species.

Meet at the Cattana Wetlands Car Park. Appropriate footwear and sun smart clothing for field walk are suggested. If you have a pair of binoculars please bring them.

This is a free event for both members of BirdLife Northern Queensland and non-members.
