CAIRNS WRITERS FESTIVAL
Cairns Tropical Writers’ Festival is the heart of literature in the tropics. It brings together stories and storytellers from across the region, the country, and the world, to inspire us and feed our literary minds. For national and international visitors, #CTWF is a cultural experience that allows them to touch the inspirational heart of the region in an environment of immense natural beauty where two World Heritage areas meet – the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest. With such a rich, tropical backdrop, it’s no surprise that the Festival continues to gain national and international appeal, allowing us to showcase the distinctive voices of our tropical region. 2018 demonstrated unprecedented growth and marked our tenth year since the Festival was established. After three covid-induced cancellations over the past three years, CTWF2023 is back, bigger and better over the weekend of 24-26 February 2023. It will gathering our regional community of readers, writers, and thinkers, to engage with local, national, and internationally revered authors and celebrities, experts across all fields of writing and publishing. Public arenas, workshops, retail opportunities and a inspiring First Nations program combine to ensure there is something for everybody. The blend is irresistible, stamping an indelible sense of place on visitors, and the communities involved.
