Mossman State School gears up to celebrate 125 year milestone

MOSSMAN State School officially opened 125 years ago, and the broader school community is excitedly counting down to this weekend’s celebrations to commemorate a very special milestone.

Past and present families, students and staff will reunite for a birthday banquet at the Mossman Shire Hall on Friday, June 23, and a fete and time capsule retrieval on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

This weekend’s celebrations are not only for those who have attended or worked at Mossman Primary State School, but for the broader community, families and town spirit.

We celebrate the milestone with a gallery of images capturing the spirit of the School over the past 125 years.

This Friday, 23 June, the School will host a Welcome Dinner followed by a Fete on Saturday 24 June.

A devoted group of former students, families and associates have enjoyed the trip down memory lane, collating the school’s history, and co-ordinating the 125 year celebrations.

A Banquet on Friday will be held from 6pm to 10pm at the Mossman Shire Hall and includes live entertainment, raffles and time capsule contributions.

On Saturday, the Fete will be held from 2pm-10pm, and includes retrieval of the centennial time capsule as well as live entertainment, food stalls, face painting, raffles and a cent sale.
