Garage Sale Trail is Australia’s festival of pre-loved stuff. Each year over 300,000 Australians get involved helping to save over three million kilograms of stuff from landfill.
This Saturday, 11 November the NicNak Shed Op Shop at the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre is joining the Garage Sale Trail hosting a car boot sale, Op Shop Sale and Sausage Sizzle.
They are hoping others in Douglas Shire who have been thinking about having a clear out before Christmas will also register their Garage Sale with the Garage Sale Trail so shoppers can have an exciting morning of bargain hunting. If you don’t have the space or just want to hold a small car boot sale, you can register for a space in the NicNak Shed Car park for a cost of $10.
What is the Garage Sale Trail Movement?
The Garage Sale Trail started in Bondi Beach. The purpose of the event is to help reduce the amount of used goods going into land fill. Items that are still in good condition get sold on to a new family to love them all over again.
“We are hoping to get the whole community involved and save as many items from landfill as possible. This event is also a good opportunity to think about giving second hand for Christmas, it’s better for the planet and your wallet.
The NicNak Shed Car boot Sale will start at 9am. It will run to around 1pm. We are going to have a sausage sizzle to make sure your bellies are full so you can shop for hours. “
