This year’s “Race that starts the Nation ” is shaping up to be a beauty with events across the Shire featuring race calcuttas, luncheons, live broadcasting, race sweeps, raffles, prizes for best dressed and best hats, photo booths and people-watching galore.

The evening’s dining experience will begin with a welcome drink and canapes on arrival followed by a Queensland inspired four course menu by Jake Nicolson and Alastair McLeod, paired with matching wines.

A Cairns-based commercial hatchery is creating history by successfully breeding coral trout fingerlings. The Company One is the home of world-class production facilities, including a state of the art breeding facility and a grow-out pond farm. Today’s development is the culmination of 18 years of dedicated research under the guidance of Dr. Richard Knuckey.
