It’s heating up-in more ways than one! This weekend sees the Douglas Shire vibrant with the Gran Fondo Festival, bringing adventurers on two wheels to the region to enjoy our breathtaking destination as they pedal around the region.
Frock up for Cairns Amateurs this Friday and Saturday, barrack for the Port Douglas Crocs as they take on Cairns Saints at Cazalys, enjoy lots of great live music, Gran Fondo festivities, Child Protection Week community events, farmers markets, and fire twirling on the beach at Ellis.
Saturday is jam-packed with events-from Reef to Reef MTB, community markets in Wonga Beach, preliminary finals for the Port Douglas Rugby Union team, the second weekend of the 10 day BMUP extravaganza (Neil Murray is live there this weekend) and for music lovers (and fans of Selling Sunset), G Flip drumming at Tanks (Sold Out).
A gastronomic delight all weekend, with growers presenting at the Mossman markets, a seafood market, food and wine festival, sunset sessions, Sunday sessions, masterclasses, lovely long decadent lunches, bucking broncos at Mt Carbine, markets in Mareeba and beachside at Holloways, UFOs in Cardwell, Japanese dance and street food in Cairns…despite what the weather Gods are telling us, it’s ALL ON! Who needs the rain radar anyway ;)!
From karaoke to cruise ships, Argentinian cuisine to country folk at Coral Lodge, another food and wine festival, trivia, surf lifesaving, beachside markets and lots of live and loud local music…there are plenty of events and activities plenty on offer all weekend!
